I learned that in the future, a link can be found between violence and music. As of now, there is no definitive connection that can be found because there are independent factors such as home environments, school, friends, television, and more. When I started researching this question, I thought there was absolutely no relation between the two, but since I started, I now think that in the future people will find out music plays some part in violence in youth.The study done by Donald Roberts, it is shown that while lyrics plays a part in youth emotions, they are not as powerful as visual violence from the media. The research reinforced the point that there is no definite link between violent lyrics and music and violence among teenagers.
In my opinion, I think that music does not have an effect on whether or not teenagers act out and if it does, then it is not the only factor. I think that violent lyrics combined with media violence, other teenagers, and how a child grew up is what would cause our youth to be violent.
